Cherie is a homegrown Texan. She grew up in the small Southeast Texas town of Anahuac. Cherie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A & M University (Class of 1992) and a Master's Degree from Texas Woman's University (2001). Cherie became a teacher in 1996 and has been teaching physical education to students with special needs ever since.
